Exploring New Locations on Cannock Chase
One of the things I think is really important when running photography workshops is having plenty of different locations to work with.
That’s especially true on Cannock Chase.
I’ve recently been back out exploring the Chase, looking for some new places to photograph and, hopefully, add to my existing workshop locations.
Cannock Chase has so many different characters. From woodland and open heathland to trees, paths, atmospheric areas and some fantastic scenery, there’s always something different to work with.
And that’s what makes it such a great place for photography.
The weather can also completely change the feel of a location. A scene that might look fairly ordinary in bright sunshine can suddenly come alive when the mist rolls in, the clouds arrive or the light changes. I actually love those less-than-perfect conditions because they can really add atmosphere to an image.
Having a good selection of locations means I can mix things up during my Cannock Chase workshops, 1-to-1 sessions and Walk in the Woods workshops. It also means we’re not always relying on the same locations every time we go out.
So, I’ll continue exploring, finding new places and seeing what Cannock Chase has to offer.
There are some great locations out there, and I’m looking forward to putting a few of these new spots into future workshops.
