Big Update: 2026 Photography Workshops, Recovery & an Exciting New Chapter
If you’ve been wondering why 2025 has been a quieter year for workshops, here’s the full story — and some exciting news about what’s coming next. As many of you know, I’ve spent most of the year recovering from knee replacement surgeries, with the second one now successfully completed.

Photography Workshops Return in 2026 — Bigger and Better
Because of surgery, I wasn’t able to push forward with the 2025 workshops. The physical demands of running full-day and multi-day photography sessions were simply too much while healing.
But that’s all changing now.
I can finally start building the 2026 Photography Workshops, and they’re shaping up to be the most exciting, ambitious, and creative workshops I’ve ever offered. Expect:
New locations
Stronger itineraries
Better structure
Fresh creative themes
Improved learning experiences
This forced break has actually allowed me to rethink everything — and the result is going to be something special.
My Last Shoot Before Surgery — And What’s Next
The last shoot I managed before my operation was a quiet visit to my local lone tree on the common — a place I’ve photographed for years. It reminded me exactly why I love what I do, and gave me a push to get through the recovery with photography in mind.
Now that I’m up and moving again, I’m hoping to get out shooting very soon.
Back Collaborating & Aiming High (Literally)
I’m continuing to work closely with Thumbs Up The Photography Channel, and the goal — once I’m fully fit — is to get back up into the Snowdonia mountain tops. I’ve missed the big climbs, the dramatic views, and the ability to teach from high, rugged locations.
With two new knees, this really does feel like the start of a new chapter in my photography journey.
This may be a significant challenge, but I am determined to achieve my goal.
